Help name that garden!

We have been trying to think of a good name for the garden/ micro farm for a while now....nothing has really stuck. So, maybe someone on here has a good idea.

We had a few ideas "Three Tiny Hands Farm" For the three kiddos, or "Ugly Fruit Farm" because the prettiest veggies are usually GMO or Hybrid. We had a few others too but as I said nothing has really stuck. It could be something related to the kids, chickens, state (Virginia), south.......ANYTHING. If nothing else, maybe some of your ideas will spur an idea in us! :)

Since it's in a different state, not sure whether it works or not, but the local farm here in MA is named Farmacy, which I thought was kinda awesome!

I sort of like the sound of Tiny Hands farm, though! Do you have any birds (other than chickens) that hang around?

Let's see...

There was a book about the back to the land movement and city folks trying to farm years ago, called Total Loss Farm. I always liked the self-deprecating quality of that.

Zooland for the kids, birds, and "it's a zoo around here" quality

Dogwood farm, since Flowering Dogwood is the Virginia state tree and it is gorgeous. Course you'd have to plant a dogwood or two, but that's not much of a hardship.

New Dominion (or Our Dominion, etc) because Va is nicknamed Old Dominion.

Ten Hands Farm, for all of you together or Just Us Chickens or Birds of a Feather Farm...

Is there a story behind your land? Name of original owners or other historical interest? Are there distinctive features, a creek, big old tree etc? Can you put everyone's names / initials together to make a word? A beloved pet or grandmother you would like to memorialize? Any ethnic heritage you want to celebrate?

Just some things to get you thinking...

If I were to name my micro-farm, it would be Hackberry Hill, since my property is mainly a hillside, crowned by a gigantic old hackberry tree. Alliterations tend to make it catchy...

"Three Tiny Hands Farm" doesn't quite roll off the tongue, but I like the sound of "Tiny Hands Farm" as well.

For your sign, you could have your kids put handprints in different colors all over a white background (take a picture of that first) then write the name in black (I think) on top of that, perhaps with white surround for each letter to stand out the letters. And a small rectangle of the handprints (full scale or reduced scale then cropped) could be your logo for your letterheads and business cards and such. Also, for design on the cheap, stock multi-colored handprint design is fairly common and you can get pre-printed, ready-made printer papers that can be folded into brochures, letter papers, etc.

Oops! Sorry. You got my imagination going....

How big does a garden need to be to merit a name?

Mine is an old paddock, and it's up against a bridle path called Thoroughbred Trail. It's about half planted with pumpkins, with the rest being assorted vegetables. It's also plagued by peafowl, squirrels, and gophers.

Any suggestions?

I appreciate the play on words with the "greenis envy", but said out loud, and knowing how some of my friend's minds work, greenis, sounds too much like a body part.

The polyhands farm was ok too, but now I'd just feel like I was semi-copying polyface.

Well between RG's suggestions and some others...

I think I'm down to these three...

Sugar Creek (Farm or garden)
Falling Creek (Farm or garden)....both creeks are in close proximity to me.
And "Garden of Weedin'" Suggested by Luvthesnapper That one makes me giggle every time...

Yeah both of my ideas are taken too. May be one of those things where you're really gonna have a hard time finding something that's not already in use so who cares if your farm/ garden has the same name as someone else's. Oh well. Not like it's a business so I guess it doesn't really matter.

hmmm,

in a number of languages, "nurse" is a "sister" - along with famous nuns, etc . . . .

so Sister Seeding / Seedlings

which doesn't work with being a male....

but in the medical vein (oh....... bad bad pun....)
there's a take off on "I See You" / ICU

ICU Sprouts / Plants / Veggies

or the MicU connection . . . (medical . . . .)

for the participant environ.... Hands Across the Seeds?

Good thinkin' but none of it is reaching out and grabbing me. I think I'm pretty stuck with Sugar Creek Farm. Thanks everyone! Now I'll have to go cut a nice cedar slab and burn the name into it so I can hang it out in the garden :)
