Sorry this picture isn't clearer. I went out of town over the weekend, when I left my tomato plant was growing and looked healthy and green. When I returned this what it looked like. I have never grown tomatoes before. I am not sure what I need to do. Any advice?!?!

This looks to me like more than a water problem, the browner spots indicate something else.
Is it perhaps in too much sun? Tomatoes are a full-sun plant, but if you recently purchased the tomato, or recently moved it into full sun, it may still be acclimating to its new environment, and if it got dry over the weekend in addition to this new change, you might get the results you see now.
What I'd do, is move the pot into a semi-protected area for a few days. Let it recover from an overdose of sunshine (if that's what happened), keep it consistently watered - pots dry out so much faster than the ground, and if it's really hot where you are, you may need to check the pot twice a day.
It could also be a nutrient problem, but I'm still learning how to recognize those issues.
