What signs of spring are showing up?

The spring flowers have pushed through the ground and ate now covered by a protective layer of snow. The other is the increasing posts on "Helful Gardener". :)

snowdrops blooming, buds on the daffodils, lilac buds swelling and I've been out weeding a couple times already! Ground is workable, I'm planting the outdoor early crops (spinach, lettuce, carrots, etc) this weekend!

Paper Whites and Naked Ladies have sprouted. Bloom will come later to the little house on the appalachia...

Even my house plants know spring is coming and are responding to the increased hours of daylight and more sunny days with new growth. This includes my over-wintering green pepper which, after sitting there doing absolutely nothing for over a month, is now again putting out some new leaves.

Wild mustard blooming and wild fennel growing. I love both.

Our daffodils are coming up, a crocus bloomed yesterday (at least that's when I noticed it) and the trees are starting to bud. :)

Saw my first chipmunk of the year this morning!

Time to clear the cobwebs off the live trap I guess...or maybe my boys could practice their marksmanship with their new bb guns.

Our area had one of the mildest winters that I can remember. I have 3 jalapeno and 2 bell pepper plants that over-wintered and have not stopped putting out peppers. I also have 3 very large artichoke plants that never died back and I'm expecting some chokes this spring.

My garden is getting filled up as the seeds I started are really growing and are being placed in the rows.

I've already had to cut the grass twice in the past 3 weeks. That's something I don't look forward to.

How nice for those of you who are out in your garden already.
Love your signs of spring doubledog! We have no poultry, but the farm cats have been serenading lately.
We've had more beautiful days already than we had all last spring put together...some 50's and 60's each week scattered between snow days.

Yeah, like many parts of the country we had a very mild winter too (for us! not like yours in New Orleans! :) ) I had spinach, chard, and broccoli overwinter and I have this year's broccoli hardened off and ready to plant.

It's looking very springy in my yard right now, daffodils in full bloom, tons of crocuses, snow drops, siberian iris....

Need to try to get my camera fixed, so I could show you!

OK, this thread has been rated PG!
Great pictures, Eric. :D

I saw some Canada geese doing what the ducks are doing the other day. The snowdrops have been up for weeks, earliest small yellow crocus are up and my peach tree buds are looking fuzzy. I startled a robin in the garden and it trotted away on its short legs. And the starlings have returned and woke us up with their cacophony on Monday.

This has to be a record for where we are...all the daffodils and forsythia from 60 miles north to us opened in full bloom over the weekend!
Lawns are a deep green , and 70's and 60's predicted for this week again.
Spring officially starts this week!

I like your yard sculpture! Sorry about the snow... Just don't send it to Ohio.

I saw some color on a couple of crocusesusesus (croci?) in a very sunny location. Daffs are emerging and Cock Robin has been in my yard for the last 3 weeks, poor thing!

This time of the year, my garden beds are full of holes. Tiny holes.

If I disturb the soil in any way, earthworms come out. E.V.E.R.Y time.
I planted a row of onion sets along the path in one bed using a stick as a dibble, and each time at least 1/2 dozen earthworms just swarmed out as soon as I poked the ground.

I was giggling uncontrollably by the time I finished.
