Potted Basil Plant Questions.

Was wondering when and how to cut it back. Ive been taking small cuttings here and there as its been growing, mostly to branch it out, and make small batches of pesto :P. Basically I was wondering how much I can cut off without compromising the plant. I want to cut it all the way back, but I don't want to kill it.
Advice Please!!

Hi Big Daddy Bonsai,

You can cut back a perennial herb to about half its height and can cut down an annual to a few inches. Since basil is considered an annual you can safely cut it to about 3".
