The book is called: organic gardening by the late Peter Bennett. It is the best all-round organic gardening book I have ever read! This book has a chapter on composting that rivals any book that is devoted JUST to composting and the same goes for everything else that this book covers.
All that is essential in organic gardening is to be found in this book, including:
* The garden as an ecosystem.
* Organic garden preparation and maintenance.
* Alternatives to pesticides.
* Cultivation.
* Community gardens.
* Soil and its essential nutrients.
* Fertilisers.
* Composting.
* Out of season growing.
* Several appemdices, including
* Sowing guides.

You can buy it from the website that I posted a link to above if you like, that is also were I got my paperback copy from, I paid $45(Australian) which included free postage Australia wide.GardenRN wrote:Not to judge a book by its cover, (literally) but it looks inviting. I'll have to look for it. I've been in the meed for a new gardening book! I think this looks like the right one.
P.S. I hope you get as much joy and knowledge out of reading it as I have and still do.
