Question on plant I found.

Hey all, I recently found a plant, that I have never seen before, and was hoping someone here could let me know what in the world it is, I'm writing an essay on it and about the only thing I know is that my mother says its poisinous

Yeah, I spoke too soon (whatever happened to the "edit" button?).

That's Phytolacca americana - Pokeweed. The berries are toxic, but the leaves, cooked properly, are what make up Poke Salad.
