Ponytail palm bonsai pruning

I have seen ponytail palms that have several branches growing and I was told that if I cut some of the shoots then new heads will come of it? ive seen it done alot but I am not sure how/where I should cut or what I should do afterwards...since there so cheap I think I'm going to buy a couple more from the store and do this to them...any thoughts?

Chop, seal with was, easy-peasy. But, that's about all you can do, and I would never consider the tree truly "bonsai-able".
