I planted what I thought were musk melons. The fruit is growing now and it looks like a water melon, but the leaves on the plants are different from the water melon plants. I'm not sure what I have here.
You probably have muskmelons. There are a large number of cultivars under the name muskmelon. Some smooth skinned ones and some netted ones. Yes, the leaves are different from watermelons.
