Front stairs

Anyone have pictures of their front yard stairs, entry way, to the front door? My son's house has a very cheesy setup that is actually unsafe with loose 12" square cement blocks.

I saw a picture on the web of an entrance way using stacked rocks and gray bricks which looks easy enough to copy on a smaller scale.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Not that there is anything wrong but I've seen lose block steps in rural areas and anytime you have lose material it could shift, however if you use large stones or flagstone as a cap then there would be some stability. You don't want people falling and filing law suits. Don't try to do it on the cheap because it could come back to haunt you.

I agree... cheap isn't the way to go when you're dealing with steps. Find a concrete guy in your area and ask him about precast steps.

These can look really cool... they come out to your house, take measurements and go back to their shop and make them there. They can make them look like real stone too! It's pretty cool!
