how do you get grass seed from the grass you already have to repair a damaged area with the same grass.
Not easy! you would have to wait till the grass grows and seeds. This could look very untidy. I suppose you could just allow a small area to grow and seed......hmmm.
The alternative would be to find an area of lawn which is out of the way and cut a peice of turf from there to patch into the damaged area. Then you can re-seed the donor site with any suitable grass seed.
