gold mop cypress

Our gold mops have gotten too large and want to know how and when to prune them. We live in TN. Thanks

I'm going to guess that a gold mop is some sort of tree? Pruning trees is really simple, all you do is prune back all the cross branches in the tree, there are a lot of interactive pruning websites on the web. I would get a good pair of loppers from the local hardware store or nursery and just go crazy pruning your trees.

I like to prune in the fall but, most gardeners will tell you that you can prune any time of year.

Gold mop cypress is not a tree. It is a shrub. Thanks anyway.

Pruning of a shrub is similar to pruning of a shrub, just prune back any cross branches to allow light to reach inside branches.
