cucumber plant

my cucumber plants have grown wondefully, giving cucumbers for a few weeks already. in the last few days I have noticed the leaves turned a brown-yellow-golden collor. It looks like stains (not necessarily diffuse), and start to fold inside. It doesn't look good.
I thought maybe they suffer from too much water (hot summer, I watered daily). now I reduced the watering to "every other day" but the plants look the same.
any suggestions?

Try mounding up some compost around them, this will increase the specific heat of the soil resulting in more energy being needed to increase the temperature of the soil.

Also, you may wish to try shading the cucumber plants.

Oh, specific heat is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of the soil by one degree celsius therefore by increasing the specific heat of the soil, you actually decrease the temperature of the soil overall because it takes that much more energy to raise the temperature of the soil.

Does this make sense?
