Help Identifying Wild Vine in Upstate New York

Hello. I just discovered a vine in the woods behind my house. It's about 7 feet tall at this time and resembles a grape vine: Palmate leaf with 5 lobes, 13 inches wide;clusters of five-leaved purplish flowers under each leaf (they look like a single rose with yellow center), about 1.5 inches in diameter; leaves are very soft dark green with pronounced veins on the back; stems/vine are a little stiff but not woody. I have searched the internet for hours with no success.

It doesn't seem to wind around trees, but rambles instead with some parts growing upward in the air and draping down.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help you may give.

A few pictures would really help. There's a link to instructions for posting them here in my signature line.

I would have posted photos, but my camera was stolen. Sorry.
