Sunlight question, Now with comparison pics!

Just how many hours of sunlight do tomatoes need per day? I'm wondering if my experimental bed is different due to soil differences or sunlight.

The new bed gets 5-6 hrs a day with added time of reflection off of the tin garage wall.

I'll post some pics when PBucket decides to get along with me.

I'm pretty sure "Full Sun" means 6 or more hours a day. So you should be good. I have full sun but it is more like 14+ hours a day so watering is a must for me.

So more than 6 and you need to watch the drying effect of the sun.

Cool, it must be a difference in the soil then. I added composted cotton bolls last year and didn't plant anything in the bed. This year I have mulched with cotton boll compost and added a topdress of composted cow manure so far.

Ah, Pbucket is working for me today!

The first is a Celebrity in the main bed.

The second is a Celebrity in the new bed by the garage.

Both planted on the same day and bought from the same source.

It is interesting to see the difference between the two beds, as far as growth goes. The composted manure seems to be working its magic already. All of the plants are showing great growth since Saturday.
