a home depot nursery stock special. looked like your typical round boxwood bush but the nebari caught my eye. I thinned it out pretty good to get a look...I am leaving it in the 3 gallon pot for at least a year. now where do i go from here.

I'm still a relative newbie here but this is what I would do:
Look at the last pic, I would take the trunk on the right and completely remove it, including the root that crosses over the others. This should give you a nice, radiating nebari. You may even be able to save the removed trunk and get two plants for the price of one. It looks like the trunk kind of "broom"s
out pretty low, so I would pick the thickest branch and chop off all the rest and leave it go for a year.
As for the other trunk if you can salvage it I would put it in the ground and see where it takes you.

it looks to me that you actually have 3 plants growing, so you have a couple of options, separate them out, like Jtred said, or continue to grow them together for a few years to create a clump style. It actually looks great already, so i would go with the second idea, though you'll have to ask some other members on ways to fuse the trunks as i've never done it. but other than that, just some good pruning and thinning would be my suggestion, until you get a stroke of inspiration. Taking out the other trunk will not harm the tree... Leaving the trunk will only keep you from getting to a good place with it.
If you want to proceed carefully you can cut it low and let it die back down on it's own... but knowing boxwoods it would say "thank you" and throw a ton of shoots on what you left...
It WILL create a shari on the side where the trunk was removed... but I don't regard that as a negative, but rather a source of potential visual interest. Not sure where you live... I forgot to look... but the best thing to do, if you are nervous about it, is to find someone around you with more experiance and have them assist you with the project. A club is especially useful for this kind of thing.
Again... as I said... it will do no harm to the tree. Boxwoods are incredibly tolerant, and most of the nebari looks as if it is coming from the other tree.

Looked at where you live... where are you in reference to York, PA??? Tom Brown is the owner of North Star Bonsai there... and he is a frequent poster here... you should send him a PM and get some assistance from him. And you can drool over the marvelous trees he has... plus he sells soil components stupid cheap.
