sunlight/water question

Hi I'm new to the forum and I would like you ask a question. I received my serissa bonsai tree 3 days ago. the leaves were all green and healthy; however, last night I watered her a little bit because the soil was some what dry. now this morning to my surprise some of the leaves turned yellow. at first I thought it was because of the sun but I have read somewhere online that I might have over watered it. was it the sun or water?

This is kind of a common problem with serissa. Check outthispost because this person had the same problem.

I would get it to a shady spot, and water it using the chopstick method described in this post. Also, what kind of soil is your tree potted in?

Well is it dense and peaty, like potting soil or regular dirt, or is it coarse, like coarse sand, stones, or baked clay (looks like kitty litter)?
