Does it matter where I plant my heirloom tomatoes?

Hello,

I just purchased an heirloom variety of tomatoes along with other regular ones like Early Girl, Roma, Better Boy, etc. Will it be an issue if I plant the heirloom variety in the same bed as the rest of the tomatoes? I vaguely remember reading something about cross pollination but ignorant enough to not know whether it matters in this situation.

Thanks
Minoti

Cross pollination doesn't matter unless you are planning on saving seeds, and even then the distance needed to prevent cross pollination is too great for a home gardener. Bees fly from one end of your yard to the other faster than you can walk.

Yes it will only effect the seed. If you are wanting to save seed you can wrapa flower in a bag to preserve the seed. (I believe  )
