hello everybody, thank god the weathers been really nice for the last cupple days and I have been able to get out in the garden again. I hope the weather will be sunny and dry this year.
heres 2 orange habs that have poped up in the propergater.

here we go round 2, just befor I start posting I would like to say my blue silkie eggs are pipping as we speak and I can hear them cheaping which is really nice.
here my 2 green houses, still need to get some more glass because of all the snow we had...

a silkie that went broody so I put 6 blue silkie eggs under her and shes sitting happly, I hope everything goes well for her.

well I dnt think/hope/weather man might be lieing, but there should be no more froste or snow now, so just the nice long summers days to look forwerd to, which I am!
yours will all probly start to melt soon and will not come back again, we all hope! fingers crossed/tuch wood.
update on the hatching chick: I woke up to find about 7 eggs piped and one nearly half out! I cant wait!! will get pics as soon as I can.

New chicks surely make it feel like spring, huh?
I saw 5 of my 6 Christmas chicks, yesterday, they were right under my feet, but the other one, is either gone or hanging out with some other group of chickens. I notice mine arrange themselves into cliques.

I was offered new baby chicks, this coming weekend. I have been leaning towards, no. But, seeing these, and my babies aren't babies anymore... You have ruined my plans! And killed my resistance!

But, I have so many seedlings to take care of, a garden to plant, so many things going on... Okay so I will only get a few... a dozen or two?
Then in June I will order groups of 25! ha ha
You made the sale for the guy! ha ha. But they were offered at $1.00 per chick for American Auracauna's. I can't spell it, the Easter Egg chickens. And he lives locally, no postage.

yeah I know u have a garden to plant but the chicks rly dnt take that much time once they are out of the eggs, and as u know they are so fascinating to watch and lisson to, I have been known to lose hours just watching them (not theys ones my last ones, theys are not evan hours old )
and watching them grow into fully grown birds is just amazing and I would not give the experience of hatching the eggs for the world.

Here they are,all fluffy! I got 13 from 24 eggs. but only 21 eggs were fertile when I candled them at like 12 days (cant member exactly what day it was). also 6 died from candleing till hatching day... so I must have done somthing wrong but I cant think what... I did everything the same since last time, just this time I did it really urly in the year, last time I did it really late in the year. but oh well I am still very chuffed!! my dads freind said if u get 50/50 then u did well!

OL u just packed away your little peace of god! u should just set one up with 24 eggs and just tend them every wakeing moment like u said your son dose, its the best way

post some pics of them (get them out) and we could pick what one to use. also an idear if they are not very good ones. u could sell all 3 and get 1 nice one. mines not a very good one but its fan driven and with the padding I put around it keeps heat very well. only cost ...£75 but was a bday prezy so my favorite word, free!

I had alot of bad legs when I was incubating them, some chicks were so splay legged they couldn't stand up ever.
If it is broke, you can fix it, just tape it up. If it is splay legged, up in the joint, you have to cull. The tough realities of having animals is being responsible when they are suffering.
