Kusamono

Hi there everyone! I was just wondering, is anybody interested in kusamono? as well as bonsai, I like the idea of grasbonsai - kusamono. I recently took five or so kusamono suitable material from my family's garden just to see how it's go. I dug them up and put them in ordinary black pots. I was surprised to see that we actually have four different types of grasses growing in around our house! I think one of the plants I liked was a weed, but I don't care I still dug it up and planted it in a pot. I was interested in seeing pictures of anybody's kusamono to give me more of an idea of what I'd like to achieve, or get my hands on I will post pictures of my several little experiments if request

They will be in their very... stupidly boring pots for another week or two until the pots I'm making in art at school have been fired and painted they're very unique if I do say so myself. I will definitely post pictures after I repot them into their new pots in the next few weeks... but here they are. just some silly little weeds I pulled from my garden. and some aloveora (is that how you spell it?) haha I think they'll look interesting in the pots I'm making.

I've seen some beautiful [url=https://www.kusamono.co.uk/]Kusamono[/url] used as accent pieces at bonsai shows. I'll look through my pictures and see if I have a shot of one.

I have some nice little pots that would be great for this art form. I'll have to give it a try.

Glad to see somebody else is interested in Kusamono also! I finished another of the pots I'll be putting my little experiments in, in the next few weeks or so. It's a very.... well lets just say my teacher was a little bit shocked and though I had taken a lump of clay, smashed it with my fist, and then poked holes in the bottom of it. I plan to paint it a blue-grey

I also made a planting of what I know as Miniature Iris but it will not be worthy of posting for some time as it is dormant right now. If it flowers properly I'll post it here later this year.

I was wondering what that plant was. I have one but never knew the name of it.

It's an odd little plant. One of the few bulbs that does not require a dormant period. I don't know how long you've had it but it's a vigorous grower and eventually it will completely outgrow that pot. You'll have more than you can use in a few years.

very nice guys, my birthday is on the 13th so I plan to buy some some more plants. grassbonsai are cute I have a evergrowing attraction to them. I'll also be buying some things for my bonsai

oh and Norm, I definitely look forward to seeing your miniature iris in bloom

I was thinking of making a few accent pieces as a side project after all my Easter work is done. I have a friend who raves about Kentucky bluegrass every time we talk plants, so I'll probably start with that. I also want to try something like this with the imperfect and dull dorodango I made last winter.

Oh, my! I had to Google Kusamono to find out what it was. Some of them are lovely! The bonsai trees and shrubs are very nice, but I really like the Kusamono bonsai. Some of the pictures I saw looked like living flower arrangements!

I have a copy of the that book and I think that it was worth the money. But I admit to going overboard on books with depressing regularity. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Borders all consider me a valued customer.


I think that I might prefer kusamono to bonsai. I wish that there were more interest locally. I would love to attend a local show with a section just for these.

Wow, a whole other form of plant art...
Kusamono looks really interesting. I might try this as an accent to my bonsai.
So, just to clarify...
1) Find random grass-like plant in yard.
2) Pull plant out of ground.
3) Put plant in pot.
Is that right?

Nah, I'm just kidding. I think this deserves a little research... I'm really interested.

VERY worth the money... it's a text manual on display as far as I am concerned.
