Wilting Hostas

I recently planted some hostas that I bought by mail order. They were fine at first, but they have all begun to wilt after a couple of weeks (it's been very hot here in New York lately).

Forgive the newbie question, but could this be due to over or under watering? Or is this another problem? Is there anything that I can do?

Would appreciae any advice.

Thanks...John B

It looks sunburnt? Is it in a semi-shade location? Morning sun only would be better than After noon sun only.

Also — Try putting up a shade for it until it is bigger — milk crate with something to hold it down is a good option.

more decorative option - set up a bench over them, create an outdoor dining area incorporating them with sun umbrella, etc.

You do need to make sure the still-shallow roots don’t get dried out.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
