Hosta Sum & Substance in Pot - Why Not Doing Well?
I have a hosta Sum & Subtance in a large pot. This is its second year. It is smaller than it was last year. In fact there were 2 in the container. One just withered away. Any suggestions?
Hi Gardengal,
Sounds like it's time to repot. It may need a larger pot, generally 2" larger. I would suggest you remove it from the pot, discard the withered away one and repot in the same pot if there is enough room or a larger one with fresh organic potting soil. You will probably have to repot every year as they do have a large root system.
