Planted Hosta Late - Will they Bloom or Wait Until Next Year

I divided some hosta in pots in November and managed to get them to come up in the spring. They did pretty good but I didn't have time to get them planted in the spring. I just planted some of them and they are living, but don't seem to be putting on very much new growth. Will it get better this summer or do I have to wait until spring again next year for them to look more like a hosta?

They should be better next year just don't divide perennials if you aren't ready to transplant. I don't care for hosta myself and a plant lived on top of the soil for two years before it succumbed.

It was a situation where someone was going to throw these away, and I thought I could divide and give away. I'm sure they will be better next year, but I guess I am anxious for my new flower bed to look great this year. Thanks for your comment.
