Do Empress Wu Hosta Grow Big?

I bought one of these and planted it in my garden. It is my first time growing this kind and I was just wondering if anyone here had one of these to ask if they grew like they said

Thought I had some big ones but the rush to size in the hosta world has passed mine by long ago...she's a big girl, isn't she?

Please send pics when she gets big for sure, but don't expect the size in the pictures for a few years, maybe more. Some of the big guys and gals take a decade to max out, although five years is more the average. These aren't everyday perennials that first year sleep, second creep, third year leap; this is more of a commitment than that. But they are worth it in the long run (took my 'On Stage' five, six years to really look ok, and better every year still). My big plants'Sum and Substance that is nowhere near that size (S&S is a lower cultivar, never more than 2-2.5 ft tall) and a 'Regal Splendor' that makes 3' x 3'. I have seen 'Mammoth' and 'Blue Angel' and some of the other monsters, but the Empress is new to me...very exciting...

Thats 'Abiqua Drinking Gourd', my friend...

The goldish leaves on S&S should look lovely with the rest of the collection...

If you scrimp and save for a bit (or know somebody like I did), 'On Stage' is my favorite hosta I have. Slow to start (last hosta in my garden every year; S&S is nearly a foot, 'Invincible' is already completely unfurled, and the tips JUST poked up for 'On Stage'), but like all true divas, the late curtain is just another part of the drama, and she is worth it...
