I'm just learning tree fruits - I want to spend the next few weeks tasting apple varieties in our area before choosing varieties to plant.
I'm interested in folks favorite varieties for eating and growing.
I'm especially hoping to find desert apples that are crisp, highly aromatic, complex, tart, and good keepers, and resistant to cedar-rust. Oh - and late-blooming to avoid that last frost. Not setting the bar very high, am I? LOL.
and- Any ideas on dwarfing or semi-dwarfing root stocks? - Mahling vs Mark? I'm getting old, so small is good, we have high winds - so anchorage is nice
