Best Vegetables for Raised Bed Above Contaminated Soil

Hello, new to the forums. I had a question about raised beds. I'm helping my father plant some raised beds, but he had been using those weed control companies to spray his yard for, well over 4 years now. I thought raised beds would be best considering the contamination of the soil after all these years. Are there certain vegetables I should not use in his garden? Depending on the depth I make the raised beds of course, but is there a certain vegetable that can dig deep past the raised bed that I should be concerned about? Kind of new to this, I understand taproots are a big digger of soil, just wanting to make sure.

Actually, I have heard that raised garden beds are good for growing almost anything because of different reasons. The soil in the beds is deep, loose, and fertile. It’s a reason that raised beds are so effective for increasing efficiency. Since root crops prefer well-drained soil, raised beds are good for such crops. Because their roots can grow freely. I have installed 2 raised garden beds in my backyard with the help of ‘In the Backyard’, raised garden bed experts (http://inthebackyard.ca/gardens/) and got 100+ fresh tomatoes, carrots, potatoes etc last year.
