garden raised beds and winter ashes

I Know that ashes supposed to have some feeding, I have few big raised beds that got planting soil (and snow) and now empty from plants so I just add all the ashes from the fire on top- what is the limit?

Is it good ? do you do that?

planning to have more veg there, are there vegetables that will enjoy it more?

Wood ash is quite alkaline will tend to raise the pH of your soil. It is better to put it in your compost pile where it will get blended with other things and pH balanced.
