I am really looking forward to getting started with chickens, but I'm thinking it will be next year. We just moved here about six months ago and still working hard at building gardens, planting, etc. And LOTS of things to spend money on. Just had to buy new screen doors.....

But I think when we can do it, it will be very fun. Do you have dogs? How do the dogs and the chickens coexist?

They can coexist, but if you have a breed that has strong small-animal predation tendencies, you have to be a firm pack leader to lay down the law early on that the chickens are yours and not there for the dog's amusement.
