Are these Carolina Reapers?

I have got some hot pepper seeds from my friends. They said that these are Carolina reapers, but are they? I only have this photo of the peppers the seeds are from. Image

They are identical to the reapers I grew last year. I made some pepper sauce with them by simply placing them in a bottle and filling the bottle with vinegar. The vinegar is too hot for me to use. I made a second bottle of sauce with Tabasco peppers and the heat is perfect and great on cooked garden greens.

I guess there are sub varieties. They look more like ghost peppers to me. My reapers look more like scorpions and have a little tail and are broader than ghost peppers. Maybe I just can't see the tails very well in the picture.
