Hi,
I'm pretty new to gardening because I just bought my first home last September. I've planted tons of things, but it's getting down to 39 tonight and I'm worried about my peppers. I have red bell peppers, green bell peppers, and jalepenos in planters hanging off the edge of my deck. For 39 degrees, should I cover them? Or bring them in? I'm afraid bringing them from 49 degrees into my 65 degree house would shock them. What should I do?
Thanks in advance!

I would bring them in - 49° is already too cool for peppers, and the shock would bother them less. I don't put them out until it is over 55° at night, and 39° would probably kill them. Covering won't help much, unless it is a Wall o'Water, or something like that, heated up in advance. I just planted some peppers in those recently, but I wouldn't even chance that, had 39° been in the forecast.
