What causes brown spots on a pretty bell pepper?

Without a picture, it's pretty hard to tell...

In my neck of the woods, stink bugs are responsible for a lot of brown spots. There are a LOAD of other reasons though! Fungal, bacterial, sun, heat, critter.....

A lot of things can cause spots fungal and bacterial spots are common especially if you don't have any resistant varieties.
