what's wrong with my serrano? photo attached

Has anyone ever seen this? My serranos are all developing this, and I'm not sure what it is, or what to do about it!

I could be wrong but it looks like environmental stress. Maybe the plant is not getting water at a consistent level. The fruit appears burned and cracked which makes me believe this.

A lot of my peppers split like this in the last few weeks, due to heavy rain storms.
