purple pepper now red?

I had a plant growing only purple peppers, always purple from small to large. Then they started red and turned purple (originally NO red) now they seem to start and stay red??????????????????????????

Most purple peppers end up red when they ripen. Some turn yellow or orange first, but all that I have grown ended up red.

This is a purple pepper plant, before they NEVER turned red, stayed purple start to finish. Another plant has had them start going from purple to green as the develop! Same plant type from same seeds............. both were always purple start to finish before??????????? Yet other of the same plant are still purple start to finish.

Ohio Heirloom seeds: Purple beauty (exact name) their description:

" These beautiful thick-walled peppers add great color to salads, fried dishes, and chili. Unlike most peppers, which start out green, these beauties are purple from the outset, adding color to your garden much earlier in the season. "

Purple is probably a mutation color. That particular plant is probably reverting.
