Is there such a pepper.
A few years ago I bought peppers that were labeled as Italian long hots, and they were what I expected.
They were the right size and shape and they were as hot as they should have been.
I haven't seen them since then.
I tried Portuguese hots which aren't as hot but are the right shape.
This year I planted Mesilla Hybrids, Extra Hot Chili (that's how they were labeled), and Iberia Hybrids.
It's to early to tell on the first two but the Iberia Hybrids are a perfect replacement in all respects.
Again, the real point of this post, is there really a pepper called an Italian long hot??

While I've never heard of a pepper specifically called an "Italian Long Hot", I grew up with close Italian friends, so sort of know what you're talking about. Perhaps check out seeds from these folks:

I've bought seeds from them before (all imported from Italy), & they've been wonderful.

Thanks for the reply and I'll check out the seeds.
Here's a link searching the pepper.

It seems to be illusive.
Maybe it's a north east thing, I'm in NJ.
