Transplanting 2ft tall bell pepper plants?

Just a quick question here. I have 4 bell pepper plants that are 2 ft tall and are in pots that are 8 inches high and 12 inches wide. They did produce a few small peppers and noticed that the pots have a ton of roots, some growing over the rim of the pots.

I always used pots to grow peppers but I'm curious to see if they'll grow larger and produce more peppers if I transplant them to my raised garden. Will their size and production increase if I do?

Those are very small pots for a pepper plant and it sounds like they are getting root bound. So yes, they would likely do better in the ground, if they survive the transplant. Heat of summer is a difficult time to be transplanting things. Be sure you keep them very well watered (but not soggy) until they are rooted in to their new location.
