I need something tall, thin and evergreen

to plant on the road side of my fence in zone 6. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would need to withstand some salt from the sidewalk/road and help screen the ugly highway view. Thanks!

I'm not clear on what you are looking for in terms of size and degree of salt tolerance but you might try Pinus nigra 'Arnold Sentinel'. The species is usually regarded as being fairly salt tolerant for a conifer and this cultivar is quite narrow and upright. It will eventually become quite tall (more than 20 feet).
