Unable to plant daffodil bulbs

I bought 2 bags of daffodil bulbs last fall, but was so busy with other things, I kept putting off planting them. They are still in my crawl space under the house. Where I want to plant them is now frozen to about 8 inches down. That's unusual for this climate. But, I wonder if the bulbs will last until the ground thaws? Should I keep them in my fridge vegetable drawer instead? I think it might be a little colder in there.

They need to be in soil so the roots have a chance to grow. Can you put them in a pot until they can be planted? You can put the pot in the crawl space as long as you can water it every so often, but not too much or the bulbs will rot.
