Hi There!

I'm a newbie and I'm trying to get some great idea's for some great looking flower garden's.
I was wondering if you all could help me out.
I live in Mulmur, Ontario CANADA.

I wanted to plant some Hosta's here but was told that it's too sunny to do that. do they all need shade? their is also a lot of sand here too. is that a problem?

In this area I need some advise as to what to plant. Doesn't get sun all day long.

This side gets a lot of sun. Any ideas as to what to plant here?

You may want to lay in some soaker hoses for your hostas, since you have sandy soil. I do too, and I can't garden w/o them. You'll get better results if you don't bury them--but drain them well before winter and flush them in the spring, they should last for years and when your hostas reach their mature size in a couple of years you'll forget the hoses are there.

It's what I did, and then I will be adding Hellebores (Lenten Rose) and Astilbe in a few weeks.

Sandy soil is driving me crazy.
right now I'm trying to only plant a few since our house is going to be going through some reno's next year. So I don't really want to work that hard in there at this time. for it to get a ripped up. Hosta's will be replanted for that time frame.
