Transplanting trumpet vine

I have two trumpet vines, one orange one yellow, that I would like to move to another spot in my garden. I live in zone 6b.
What is the best time of year to do so? Should I prune the vine back when I transplant? Any other suggestions re: same would be helpful.

You can't kill trumpet vine :D

I have orange and yellow also and have moved them in the past. I would wait until dormant in late fall, cut all the way back, and then dig ~ just easier to do this way. Make sure you get all of the root unless you still want vines in the original spot. I am still getting shoots from the orange plant in the first place I had it planted.
