Transplanting sun flowers!

Basically sunflowers will not transplant easily when they get to be a foot tall or even 2 feet. I plant them everywhere and hate to distroy them if they are in my gardens other plant section! Wait till it rains then dig your other location hole and simply dig way below the roots with a regular shovel and put it in the other hole and it will not skip a beat! They seem to get stunted if left in pots too long that is why I just throw seeds everywhere then trans plant! I will move about 20 this weekend!
