Not too long ago I learned the name of the "weed" in my garden - purslane. Then I learned that it's edible. And now I learn that they flower and are actually a pretty flowering plant.
I learned this at the garden store today when I was looking for flowering plants to keep the bees around until my sunflowers bloom. I didn't buy one since I got so many already, don't know if they'll flower this year, but hope so since I no longer yank them out of the ground.
I also learned that deer love purslane, someone said it's like candy to them.

purslane is wild moss rose. Or in other words moss rose is purslane that has been hybridized, bred for bigger, showier, brilliant colored flowers. I guess some garden stores sell the moss roses labeled as purslane, but I would make a distinction, as they are not the same species.
