Can't get over these flowers

Overwintered carrot flowered -- very fractal -- I keep seeing a patterns:

What a gorgeous picture of your milkweed/ butterfly weed! I have some just a day or two behind yours. But I have less than I did last year, some didn't come back. :( I think it may just have gotten crowded out by the iris taking over that bed (got to get rid of a bunch of that; was a bad idea to put it there in the first place, I was just running out of places to put iris).

I've never seen carrots flowering like that... I guess because I never overwintered them. Do you let it go to seed, then?
