Grass ID and transplant possibilties for me????

I have a stand of grasses in my back yard that I'm about to remove for my newest baby, a Blue spruce (yeah it's small but I couldn't pass it up for $3.49). I was wondering first if anyone knows what kind of grass it is and if it is transplantable.

My vision is to put the Blue spruce in the middle of where the grasses are. Than some drawfs on either side. There are 2 huge Willows on either side of all this it will be a nice privacy fence of green when I'm done. Any ideas or opinions on this?

While we are here what entails transplanting these grasses. Also will they grow well in part shade? I know it's a lot but try if you can.

Thanks Dono

Peace

Put some stakes around the spruce after planting or it might get accidentally mowed down. Don't know the specific name for the grass but digging it up in the spring after cutting back the top should be a safe bet. It might be able to take partial shade but not full.

I think the grasses could be Japanese silver grass, Miscanthus sinensis. Which variety is harder to tell, could perhaps be 'Gracillimus'. The Japanese silver grasses usually prefer full sun.

Thanks I was going to put them on the west side of my house. Maybe not it only gets sun half the day.
