Gladiolias

Is there anything I can do to promote blooming since our weather has been so grey, rainy, and cool?

Us too... I'm sitting in the middle of a ginormous thunderstorm as I write this. Not too much you can do about the weather. Glads are full sun plants that just aren't going to do as well without much sunshine. Be sure you don't use high nitrogen fertilizer- that encourages plant growth at the expense of flower production. Stake them well, so they don't fall over in wet soil. Do your best anti-rain dance (and then direct some of that anti-rain energy my way). I wish we could share; some parts of the country are still in drought...
