Full sun year round garden in zone 7?

I am new to gardening. We recently ripped out some big overgrown bushes from our front yard and would like to replace it with something that grows no taller than 3'-4' tall as we would like to keep our nice window view. I am totally clueless and have been trying to research online but it's very difficult. We have a 9x9 space and I would like to fill it with some nice, easy to take care of plants that stay green all year and produce flowers/edible fruit(if possible). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can input what you want, height, color, type of plant, edible, fragrant, whatever and what your USDA hardiness zone it and it will give you a list of suggestions. We could help more if you say what the sun exposure is and soil type.
