Identify plant please!

I am trying to find out what this plant is:

My neighbor said something along the lines of peonia or something like that, but I don't think so. I am trying to figure out how to care for it as it is turning yellow on the bottom. I also have some in a can that I need to know if it can be transplanted easily. Thanks!

I don't know what it is, but I can tell you that it is definitely not a peony. :)

If it is a flowering perennial, looks like it could be phlox.

Could it possibly be a coneflower?

IMHO it very closely resembles the bee balm that my wife has planted out fromt.

I don't know what it is. I feel like I should know, looks familiar. But it will become much easier to identify once it flowers. But I'm pretty sure it's not bee balm; the bee balm has leaves that are very jagged--strongly serrated along the edges. Coneflower leaves don't look jagged, but they have very fine serrations along the edges.

It is Phlox. It is a perennial. I have tons of these and they spread like crazy. Mine bloom in July.

They turn yellow around the bottom because they suffer from mildew problems. They are a sun loving plant and are easy to transplant. Give them plenty of room..don't crowd them. Some of mine get about waist high. Mine are purple..I've seen them in pink and white.
