My purple wave petunias tend to naturally cross and reseed. The result seems to be a reversion to the parents of the original cross. Some make fuschia flowers that are about the same size as the original. Others make the same color of purple but the flowers are about half sized. Since the wave plants appear to be a dihybrid cross, I would expect the offspring to be extremely variable when crossed with a differently colored ones.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "hybridize." They are hybrids. I have grown petunias out from seed I collected from mine, which tends to un-hybridize them. Like alex, in my experience they tend to revert towards some ur-petunia. I sometimes get stripes and markings, but if I keep it going for more generations, they tend to get smaller and paler flowering.
I guess if you did careful selecting and only grew out the ones that were most like what you want, perhaps you could eventually get a stabilized variety, but you would have to know what you were doing.
