Good question--I think you've got a stumper there. If it's all the same plant, it looks like some kind of root vegetable like a radish or rutabaga or turnip gone wrong. Try your county extension office or local nursery?

You are rather far off my turf but it looks like a Solanaceae of some sort, possibly Solanum dulcamara, Bittersweet Nightshade.
