My first garden ever Zone 4

Fall 2013 sheet mulching roughly 4 feet wide by 27 feet long 15 inches high

June 5th Planting applied a light layer of grass clippings & rock border

July 1st Garden thriving on it's own

July 31 garden located next to driveway and street

August 26th Applied roughly 6inches of fresh ramial woodchips to build soil & smother grass on a roughly 1000 square feet

Very pretty giant hyssop surrounding my well

September 8th Garden has NEVER been watered, NEVER weeded with only 2 layer of grass mulch in late spring early summer.

We had such a great season here with LOTS of sunny days but most of the nights were in the 50s, last night was 38 here :(
