Lemon Cucumbers

Anybody try these before I really like the flavor so I will be planting more next year I only planted one this year and wish I had done a lot more. This is the average size I got a few were as big as a softball.

I read that they are better if harvested before they get the lemon yellow color, so mine have been much smaller coming into the kitchen. Are you eating them fresh? Pickled?

Don't you think the black spines are visually a bit off-putting? They look much between after the spines get scrubbed off. :P
