I had NO idea it was supposed to frost last night. Weather app said yesterday for last nights low 39. Low last night got down to 32 and frosted. Picked all my bells this morning, my jacket pockets were bulging with peppers. Most of these came off one plant. I don't need anymore frozen so I'll be trying to give them away and cook with the ones I can't get rid of.

My leafy greens (lettuce, kale, arugula and mustard greens) looked rather droopy, idk if they'll perk back up or not.

Sorry to hear about that, TN. Even the kale and mustard greens were affected by it? None of my brassicas were bothered at all, with a lot of frosts, but it is surprising that 28° is the lowest it's gotten here, so far! Peppers are long gone.

Sorry TomatoNut, I know you put a lot of work into those peppers. But at least they lasted this long. Weather has been variable it is warm one day, stormy and cold the next.

My greens seem to be ok now. Cabbage still looks a little disturbed. After all this rain this week shows another cold front. I might pick all the leafy greens and cook them all before that. (Well, not the lettuce)

I'm questioning one of these cabbage kinds is even a cabbage. 3 of my plants looks more like broccoli plants, and I didn't get broccoli this year. I got two different kinds of cabbage but dumb me must have discarded the variety labels off the six packs they came in, I couldn't find them. I thought one was a hybrid. Maybe the hybrid is the questionable one. Oh well. Only time will tell.

The pack could have been mislabeled. They are very similar as initial seedlings.

The very pale stem/vein ones look like they could be cauliflower as well. . Or even brussels sprouts….

I hope it's not cauliflower, I hate the stuff. Brussel sprouts would be cool though. If it's not cabbage, and I don't think it is, I hope it's broccoli. I hope the plants survive long enough for me to find out what it is. I'm curious!

Sometimes I learn mother nature is smarter than me. Volunteer seeds know when to germinate and grow the best plants so I make notes on paper.

These were Bonnie plants, not ones I grew. So I figure someone in the Bonnie nursery forgot what they stuck in half a six pack or whatever. But I'm fine with the mix up, I'm just glad it's not cauliflower. I can eat broccoli like it's candy. It won't go to waste.

I just got through reading through my annual Baker Creek catalogue then jumped on their website and made an order, lol! FINALLY found a dwarf sweet corn I am anxious to try. Also some thousandhead kale, Japanese flowering kale, extra mustard greens, pansies and some Texas onion seed. When I was scrolling through the onions I came across the Egyptian walking onion and was reminded of you, @Gary. Unfortunately they were out of stock on those. And unfortunately they didn't have a simple sweet basil but I can find seed for that in the store. Or eBay.

Unfortunately I'll be having a bad cold snap starting Saturday night and lasting for three nights. Temperatures will be in the 20's. My weather app showed a little snowflake next to the temperatures for those nights so I don't know if it's going to snow or just frost those nights. Today I'm going to harvest what I can and cover the rest. I wish I had some more foam insulation boards. Those are the best to shield plants. I have the three sheets I use on my greenhouse, and some more plastic stored somewhere. If I do some digging I might find some ratty sheets to. I don't want to lose my broccoli like last time. My cabbage might be ok but I don't want to chance it getting frostbite either.
